Village bikes is once again proud to sponsor the Team Tony Foundation during their annual Cycle of Life ride across Florida.
Each October, the Team Tony Foundation hosts the CYCLE of LIFE (COL), a 2-day, 200-mile cycling event across the state of Florida. The ride is in its fourth year and stays true to the spirit of Team Tony and its founder and namesake Tony McEachern: Cancer’s not a curse, it’s a cause.
The COL begins in Ormond Beach and finishes in Lakewood Ranch. Day One takes you through the Ocala National Forest, around Lake Mineola and over Sugarloaf Mountain. Day Two continues through the rolling hills of Clermont into ranch country and old Florida towns. The ride culminates with a welcome home party where family and friends greet riders on Lakewood Ranch Main Street. Cold beers soothe weary legs and upbeat music revives drained energy at this fun event hosted by Village Bikes.
For those who can’t get away for the whole weekend but still want to challenge themselves and join in on the festivities, there’s a 100-mile ride. On Saturday, you take a bus from Lakewood Ranch to Clermont, Florida where you meet up with the 200-mile riders for an overnight stay at the Summer Bay Resort and ride back to Lakewood Ranch together. Several speed groups are offered to accomodate fitness levels. A huge after party is held at the finish line in Lakewood Ranch. If you’d like to participate you can RegisterHere .
The most exhilarating portion of this event happens after the ride because money raised directly supports Team Tony’s mission of providing 1-on-1 support and resources to those diagnosed with cancer.
